Village exec hurt in vehicular accident

A VILLAGE official was injured in a vehicular accident Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in Zamboanga City, the police reported.

The Zamboanga City Police Office’s Station 7 identified the victim as Romeo Macrohon, 57, a councilor in the village of Lumbangan.

The police said the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in near a park in Santa Maria village.

The police said that investigation showed Macrohon was buying at a fruit stand when suddenly bumped by a sports utility vehicle driven by Wahab Sarabi, a resident of Duramos Drive in Pasonanca village.

Sarabi told the police that he suddenly lost control of the steering wheel while driving home coming from a local university drown.

Macrohon was rushed to the hospital and Sarabi promised to shoulder the victim’s hospitalization expenses as well as to pay the damaged fruit stand. (SunStar Zamboanga)
