PH Rotarians welcome Rotary President-elect Gordon Mclally

ROTARY International Zone 10A District governors-elects from ten Rotary districts in the country welcomed and joined Rotary International (RI) president-elect (Ripe) Gordon McInally who visited the country recently.

Rotary International District 3850 incoming Governor Mate Espina was among those who were part of the ten governor-elects who joined the incoming RI president in his visit to the country.

Espina shared that McInally will serve as President of Rotary International in 2023-2024 and came here to graced several events.

With Espina were district governors-elect 3770 - Rudy Enriquez; 3780 - Paul Angel Galang; 3790 - Francis Cornejo; 3800 - Pope Solis; 3810 - Lilian Hernandez Dela Cruz; 3820 - William Delloro; 3830 - Jay Tambunting; 3850 - Mate Espina; 3860 - Twinkle Gamboa and 3870 - Gigi Go.

McInally has expressed his wish to have an audience with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to talk about the latter’s platform of unity and how Rotary clubs in the country can further the agenda of nation building.

Among the highlights of McInally’s stay are the Rotary Service Day at Camp Aguinaldo, a tour of a Rotary Community Service Project in northern Luzon, and gracing the Induction of the Philippine College of Rotary Governors at Conrad Hotel.

He also attended the meeting of the Rotary Club of Manila, the first club chartered in the Philippines as well as do the ceremonial tee-off of the McInally Golf Tournament at the Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club.

Philippine Rotary has more than 20,000 member-Rotarians all over the country.

This visit is an excellent opportunity to showcase to McInally what Rotary has been doing in the communities they serve.

He will also tour the facilities ideal for hosting the Rotary International Convention which Philippine Rotary is bidding for on 2028.

The PH RIDGs were humbled and honored to have been appointed Senior Aide to Rotary International President-Elect Gordon McInally during his visit to our beloved country.

“We have been together for the whole duration of your short visit and I have witnessed up close and personal how you exemplify and embody the qualities of a Servant Leader,” the Rotarians in a statement said.

Rotary International is in good hands, and will definitely be, if not better, when you serve as president in RY 2023-2024! You INSPIRED a lot of Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike in all your engagements here, they added.
