GMA-7 and Quantum Films bring to light the feel-good and inspiring series “What We Could Be” beginning on Aug. 29 on GMA Telebabad.
Known for producing box office movies like “English Only Please” and “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank,” Quantum Films now ventures into the TV scene in collaboration with the Philippines’ leading broadcast company, GMA Network.
Three of the country’s sought-after and talented stars headline this much awaited primetime soap: Miguel Tanfelix as Franco, Ysabel Ortega as Cynthia and Yasser Marta as Lucas.
Miguel shared that this is by far the most mature role he has ever portrayed: “This is one of my dream roles, to play someone with a complex background so it’s very mysterious. It’s also a perfect project for someone my age, going through a phase when there are a lot of uncertainties in life.”
Ysabel, on the other hand, admitted that she feels pressured on her first lead role: “I’m definitely nervous about it but at the same time, I feel confident that we’ll be able to come up with something really nice. This project is a good chance for us to experiment and learn as actors.”
Yasser considers this show as a major turning point in his career: “This project really impacted my life in a huge way. I started from scratch in show business but now I have this opportunity to work with a great cast.”
Set in the quaint town of Sta. Barbara, the series follows the relatable story of three young individuals who juggle personal aspirations, family problems and relationship issues while reaching for their dreams.
Catch the world premiere of “What We Could Be” — under the helm of award-winning director Jeffrey Jeturian — beginning Aug. 29, weeknights at 8:50 p.m. on GMA and on GTV from Monday to Thursday at 11:30 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. and every Friday at 11 p.m. - 11:45 p.m.
