ONE person died while another was wounded in a head-on collision of two motorcycles in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Thursday, August 25, 2022.
Police Colonel Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said the incident happened around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, at Purok 3 in Esperanza village, Olutanga.
Larubis identified the fatality as Joseph Sumadlayon, 44, and the wounded as Flory Fe Putis, 43.
Larubis said investigation showed that Sumadlayon and Putis were driving motorcycles and traveling in opposite directions when they collided head-on on a curve road in Purok 3, Esperanza village.
He said the two motorcycles collided head-on after Putis lost control of the steering bar and encroached the lane of Sumadlayon.
He said the attending physician declared Sumadlayon dead at the hospital while Putis was admitted for treatment. (SunStar Zamboanga)
