CIDG operatives nabbed 1 in anti-illegal gambling campaign

OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) haves arrested one person in its anti-gambling campaign in Zamboanga del Sur, an official said Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Police Colonel John Francis Encinareal, CIDG-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Ramilo Saniel, 53, a resident of Purok 6 in Guripan village, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Encinareal said that Saniel was arrested in anti-gambling campaign, dubbed as Oplan Bolilyo, around 8:20 p.m. Monday, August 29, at Purok 6 in Guripan village.

Encinareal said that Saniel was caught in the act of collecting bet money.

He said that seized from the possession of Saniel were P4,770 cash in different denominations and other illegal gambling paraphernalia.

He said Saniel was taken to the CIDG-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Field Unit office for documentation and proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
