OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested a senior citizen in a law enforcement operation in Lamitan City, Basilan, a top CIDG official said Wednesday, August 31.
Police Colonel John Francis Encinareal, CIDG-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Jaime Natividad alias Papa Jim, 62.
Encinareal said that Natividad was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Purok, Colonia village, Lamitan City.
Encinareal said Natividad has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of sexual assault and four counts of acts of lasciviousness issued by the court of Zamboanga City.
He said the court has set the bail at P200,000 for the crime of sexual assault and P180,000 for the four counts of acts of lasciviousness for his temporary liberty.
Encinareal said the elder has allegedly sexually molested a child, of which the mother of the child filed the case against the accused for sexually molesting her daughter.
He said that the arrested suspect was taken to the CIDG-Basilan Provincial Field Unit for proper documentation prior to his transport to Zamboanga City for the return of the warrant of arrest to the issuing court. (SunStar Zamboanga)
