‘Bigtime’ drug dealer arrested in Cotabato anti-drug sting

AN ALLEGED “big-time” drug dealer was arrested while his cohort escaped and some P3.4 million worth of illegal drugs seized in anti-drug operation in Cotabato City, the police reported Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao, identified the arrested suspect as Bomul Salunting alias Mulmul.

Salunting’s cohort who escaped was only identified as Alias Sangki, according to Verceles.

Verceles said that Salunting was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9:15 p.m. Friday, September 2, along Maria Clara Street, Cotabato City.

He said seized from the possession of Salunting were some 500 grams of suspected shabu packed in 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P3.4 million, a box and buy-bust money.

He said the arrested suspect was placed under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-Barmm).

He added that appropriate charges will be filed against the arrested suspect and his cohort. (SunStar Zamboanga)
