ONE was reported dead due to the onslaught of Typhoon Henry (international name Hinnamnor), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

In a situational report, the NDRRMC said the fatality was from the Ilocos Region. It said it is still being validated.

The NDRRMC said 110 families or 321 persons in four barangays in Ilocos Region were affected by the effects of the weather system, of which 60 families or 149 individuals were displaced.

Assistance has been provided to the affected population by their respective local government units and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

It said flooding and landslides were also recorded in Ilocos and Cordillera regions.

Typhoon Henry entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, August 31.

It severely affected the province of Batanes and Babuyan Islands, although it did not make landfall as it stayed over the Philippine Sea.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Typhoon Henry is already out of PAR at dawn on Sunday.

Pagasa said rains may still be experienced over Luzon, particularly over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Mindoro Provinces, and Romblon, due to a Southwest Monsoon being enhanced by Typhoon Henry.
