CEBU is like home to us, it’s the place where we met, it’s where Zowie’s family is from, and it’s where many of our supporters live. For these reasons, we always make sure to come back to Cebu whenever we’re in the Philippines.

As we count down to our next return, we’re looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful province and going back to some of our favorite Cebu tourist spots. Here are the top 10 things we can’t wait to do when we come back to Cebu.

1. Food trip

Home is where the food is! After so many months away, the first thing we’re going to do is fill up on all our street food favorites at Sugbo Mercado, lechon from Belly Buster and Pungko Pungko at Fuente. There’s nothing better than a Cebu food trip!'

2. Swim with Sardines

The Moalboal Sardine Run is one of our favorite activities in Cebu. It’s like a magic light display underwater, plus it’s free if you know where to look! If you haven’t been, we seriously recommend it.

Millions of sardines swim in the same spot, just off the shore of Moalboal, every single day. We’ve been plenty of times before, but we plan on using our new underwater camera gear to take some really amazing photos of the sardines as soon as we come back to Cebu.

3. Go to Bantayan Island

Bantayan Island has the best white sand in Cebu and the chillest vibes. We can’t wait to get back there and relax on the beach, ride our bikes down quiet provincial roads, and paddleboard along the lagoon. There’s also island hopping, snorkeling and historical sites. Bantayan Island has so much to offer and is one of our favorite beach spots in the Philippines.

4. Go to Camotes Island

Another island just off the coast of mainland Cebu is Camotes Island, or technically a group of islands. It’s a lot more low-key than Bantayan Island, but there’s plenty to see and do on Camotes. It’s home to a number of underground caves filled with crystal clear water, untouched beaches and even cliff diving. We’ve been before, but Camotes always calls us back.

5. Hike Osmeña and Casino Peaks

In our opinion, Cebu has some of the most underrated hikes in the Philippines. Many people travel to Bohol just for the famous Chocolate Hills, but did you know Cebu has a version of its own?

Osmeña Peak is the highest point on the island of Cebu and overlooks sprawling grass-covered hills and out to the Tañon Strait in the distance. Its neighboring hike, Casino Peak, is less known but another one of our favorites. Standing atop a jagged limestone ridge, you can see even more rolling hills.
