THE India Business Forum (IBF) is eyeing possible investments in Bacolod City that would help spawn employment for 2,000 residents.

During his visit to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Friday, September 2, IBF President Dileep Tiwari said the possible investments would be in the areas of pharmaceuticals and technology.

IBF serves as the corporate chamber of commerce of India with about 80 member companies and is considered one of the fastest growing business networking platforms in the world.

Its member companies include those in internet technology, business process outsourcing, pharmaceutical, agriculture, automobile, fast-moving consumer goods, and manufacturing, among others.

Recently, IBF member-company, HCL Technologies, has confirmed to invest in Bacolod by making its foray out of Manila and would provide direct employment to approximately 2000 people from the city.

Dileep owns the company that supplies Remdesivir, an antiviral medication, in the country during the peak of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
