AS SunStar Davao marks its 27th anniversary today, expect the leading community media organization in Mindanao to pursue greater heights both on print and digital.

The direction, as always, is to expand its reach across multiple media platforms to stay relevant while harnessing the strengths of storytelling to help shape the community better.

“We strive to engage more audiences across generations guided by journalistic ethics and values,” Reuel John Lumawag, Editor-in-Chief of Sun Star Davao, said.

For this year, Sun Star Davao focuses on the theme “Expanding Reach, Championing the Community.” While we continue to expand the services that we offer to the audience through various print and digital initiatives, we stay true to our commitment to grow and win with the community that we serve, especially the Davao Region.

“We will be here for the community by telling their stories the best possible way we can. We continue to innovate to relate better with our audience. We always put our audience in all our decisions and actions as we proceed with our operations,” Lumawag shared.

“We believe that journalism and community storytelling, more than ever, are essential for nation building and development,” he added.

With Sun Star Davao’s time-tested strength in circulation backed up by its capacity to print 36,000 copies an hour and its powerful impact online with a combined 1.7 million followers across major social media sites, the goal to further champion the community is never far fetched.

This is a commitment to grow and win together with the community through storytelling. This is the Sun Star Davao experience. ASP
