Unclaimed body found in Bohol town buried

A body placed inside a sack was found at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022, in Barangay Panas, Candijay town, Bohol.

Police Corporal Salvador Dealagdon of Candijay Police Station said in an interview with SunStar Cebu on Saturday morning, September 10, 2022 that the local government unit (LGU) had decided to bury the dead person, who was already in a state of decomposition, due to its foul smell.

Dealagdon said nobody came forward yet to claim the dead, which remained unidentified as of this writing.

The victim was estimated to be in his 40s, 5'7" in height, of large build and had a tattoo bearing "AKP" on his right chest.

Dealagdon said that a Bantay Dagat member was about to check his seaweed (gosu) farm in Barangay Panas when the discovered the body placed inside a cement sack with his both hands tied in his back.

Two big stones were also found inside the sack to pull the sack to the bottom of the sea.

Dealagdon called on those who have missing relatives to visit their station so they can check the body. (BBT, TPT)
