THREE members of the New People's Army (NPA) surrendered to authorities Monday, September 12, in the province of Sultan Kudarat, the police reported.
Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operation chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao, identified the NPA surrenderers as Doy Kalong alias Ka Digoy, 24; Agustin Egot alias Ka Ramer, 19; and, Sidon Umpeng alias Ka Juvy, 23 all members of the Platoon Samsung, Guerrilla Front-73-MUSA of the NPA's Far South Region Mindanao.
Verceles said the three NPA rebels surrendered around 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, in Sitio Par, Titulok village, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat.
The three turned over one Uzi caliber 9-millimeter sub-machinegun, homemade caliber 5.56 millimeter rifle, and a caliber .38 revolver with ammunition.
Verceles said the three NPA surrenderers were placed under the custody of the 1202nd Mobile Company for debriefing and documentation. (SunStar Zamboanga)
