P32-M marijuana plantations destroyed in Lanao

AUTHORITIES have destroyed P32 million worth of marijuana plants in four plantations in two villages in the province of Lanao del Sur, the police reported Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

The Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office said two of the four plantations were found Monday, September 12, in Pindulonan village and the other two in Dilimbayan in the town of Maguing.

The police said the marijuana plants were burned and destroyed on-site and later sprayed with herbicide.

Thorough investigation is being conducted to identify the owners of the four Marijuana plantation and for filing of appropriate charges, the police said.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General John Guyguyon, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) director, commended the operatives for their accomplishments in the continuing intensified offensive against illegal drugs.

Guyguyon urged everyone to step-up their efforts to find and prosecute those responsible for the planting and cultivation of marijuana plants. (SunStar Zamboanga)
