Pulupandan mayor upbeat mega bridge project to benefit town

MAYOR Miguel Antonio Peña of Pulupandan in Negros Occidental is hoping for the realization of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PNG) mega bridge project which will benefit the town and its people.

Peña has expressed gratitude for the recent endorsement of Pulupandan as landing site on the Negros side of the bridge by the Provincial Development Council (PDC).

He is also thankful for the support and endorsement of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer on the proposed project.

Peña also cited Fourth District Rep. Juliet Ferrer, PDC, National Economic Development Authority (Neda), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPHW), and all government agencies involved in the project.

“This project will not only benefit the people of Pulupandan, but the entire province of Negros Occidental. I hope that this project will push through, Peña added.

Earlier, the DPWH announced that two groups have qualified to submit their bids for the PNG Bridge project which signaled that the long delayed project is pushing through.

Reportedly, South Korea-based Yoshin Co. and Sambo Engineering and Construction Co. are expected to submit their bid proposals for the detailed engineering design (DED) by September 23, 2022.*
