A MAN claiming to be “the Incredible Hulk” was arrested after he killed a fighting cock in Sitio Upper Cogon in Barangay Poblacion 1, Carcar City on Saturday afternoon, September 17, 2022.
The suspect was identified as Roque Tanucan Lapa, a 40-year-old resident of Barangay Poblacion 1 who originally hails from the southwestern town of Aloguinsan.
Lieutenant Colonel Ardeolito Cabagnot, chief of the Carcar City Police Station, said they received a call from Neslyn Mae Paraiso, 24, seeking assistance to restrain a very drunk Lapa, who was causing disturbance in the area.
She said the suspect was harassing residents.
She said they tried to pacify him, but he ended up destroying everything he could put his hands to, including a fighting cock worth P5,000.
Lapa allegedly used a rock to kill it.
After his arrest, the suspect admitted that he could not control his actions whenever he had too much to drink.
“Lapa said he became the Hulk at that instant and the fighting cock looked like a monster to him, which is why he struck its head with a rock,” Cabagnot said in Cebuano.
Lapa will be charged with malicious mischief.
Cabagnot said Lapa was also arrested on September 3 also for “going wild.”
Herminda Malubay, a 50-year-old resident of Barangay Guadalupe, sought police assistance on September 3 when Lapa destroyed her plants worth P4,000.
The court, however, allowed Lapa to pay a fine, resulting in his release. (GPL/PJB)
