THE 36th Negros Trade Fair is come back strong and warmly welcomed in the country’s known financial hub and skyscrapers-Makati City.

The Association of Negros Producers (ANP) has simply brought Negros to this highly developed community through the various high-quality and unique products that are truly Negrense.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer led the Negrense leaders during the staging of the Arima event at Glorietta 2 to signal the start of the 5-day Negros Trade fair.

Congressmen and congresswoman, mayors, provincial board members, city and town officials led the ringing of the bell during the Arima.

“When we opened our 34th Trade Fair in 2019, I urged everyone present that evening, to remember and give gratitude to the Negrense women who faced seemingly insurmountable odds to provide an alternative source of income to the Negrense farmers who were badly hit by the global sugar crisis,” Lacson said.

He said that the story of our Negros Trade fair is one of resilience, ingenuity, hope, and courage of the Negrense spirit. That time, little did we know that the next Trade Fair will give resilience, hope, and courage a new and a more personal meaning to each and every Negrense of our time.

After two years of uncertainty and dread caused by the pandemic, “here we are together, to once again, ring the bell to start this year’s historic trade fair, he also said.

The governor stressed that no people in recent history have been called upon to overcome the obstacles that tested our resolve as human beings. This event is a testament of our ability as Negrenses, to overcome adversities.
