A CHURCH in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City caught fire on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2022.
The fire started at 9:45 p.m. from a building occupied by the End Times Baptist Church on M. Velez Street and was put under first alarm at 9:50 p.m. by responding fire personnel, according to Fire Officer 3 Emerson Arceo, a fire investigator from the Cebu City Fire Office (CCFO).
A tattoo shop and a store nearby were also consumed by the fire, while a house was partially damaged.
At least three families or 61 individuals were affected by the fire, which was declared under control at 9:56 p.m.
The CCFO placed the fire damage at P6.7 million.
Arceo said they are still establishing the cause of the fire as well as identifying the owner of the building who rented out the property to the church. (BBT, TPT)
