WHEN the pandemic started, conferences and events-planning stood at a standstill. After two years, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino decided to reopen its doors by bringing back its most anticipated event, the Cebu Wedding Expo. This event will not only symbolize a new and exciting chapter for Waterfront but also a window of opportunity for future events.
To provide more information on this three-day event, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino held a press conference on Sept. 16, 2022. The group general manager, Christopher Park, and conventions and events director, Sophia Ubalde-D’Lonsod, were present at the conference to explain what is in store. This included Waterfront’s most awaited event, the Fashion Show, which is slated for Sept. 24, 2022 and will showcase the wedding gowns and suite designs of 25 local designers.
According to Chris Park, the expo will serve as a catalyst not only for Waterfront but also for other establishments around Cebu to open their doors to more events and activities. With the gradual rise in tourism rates and the modified health regulations in Cebu City, locals and tourists alike should expect more to come from the Queen City of the South.
Park also added that due to the pandemic, it was a struggle for the hotel industry to continue organizing events and maintain conference room usage. Regardless, Waterfront remained one of the established hotels in the Visayas region with other branches in Mactan and Davao. Moving forward, Waterfront plans to seek opportunities of establishing their presence through expansion in the Luzon area, specifically Manila.
With that being said, potential guests and fashion enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the chance to attend the three-day Cebu Wedding Expo 2022, which will run from September 23 to 25. It will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on September 23 followed by the fashion show at 8 p.m. on September 24.
