ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2022, SGV & Co. celebrated the opening of its new Davao office at the Damosa Diamond Tower with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and cocktails, with clients and SGV leaders in attendance.

The SGV Davao office is now situated in a Grade A building, the first structure in Davao to receive EDGE certification for its environment-friendly features. This made it attractive to SGV in view of EY’s carbon negative agenda for 2021 and the global organization’s goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2025. EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is an international green building certification system created by the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, to provide a measurable and credible solution to prove the business case for building green and to unlock financial investment in such projects.

In his message to guests, SGV Chairman and Managing Partner Wilson P. Tan expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect with clients and friends following the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the transfer to the newer, larger office was a necessity due to the tremendous growth in the Davao office’s headcount.

“Our SGV Davao team has quadrupled since 2011. This is a testament to how much the city has progressed. We needed to grow our local team to accommodate the increasing number of clients and engagement opportunities in just the past decade, which is a great sign of a thriving economy and business environment,” he said.

“This new office is a sign of our commitment to continue being active in the growth of the Davao region, a sign that we are here to stay and that we will continue seeking to anticipate the region’s changing business needs and provide the highest quality service,” he concluded.

Special guest Hon. Bernard E. Al-ag, Chairperson of the Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, represented Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte. Ricky Floirendo, Vice Chairman of the Anflo Group of Companies; Cary Lagdameo, President of the Real Estate and Construction Group; and JM Lagdameo, Assistant Vice President/GM of Kensington Ventures, Inc. joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

SGV Davao is located at the 3rd Floor, Damosa Diamond Tower, Damosa IT Park, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Lanang, Davao City. PR
