CHELSEA Fernandez, Binibining Pilipinas-Globe 2022 from Tacloban City, is all supportive of education and youth empowerment, particularly for abused women and children.

During her homecoming on Thursday, September 22, 2022, Fernandez found time to visit and entertain the victim-survivors at the Women's Shelter in the city and had a courtesy call on Mayor Alfred Romualdez and other city government officials.

Aside from attending a motorcade and a photo shoot at the Yolanda Memorial Marker in Astrodome, the beauty queen also met with the youth athletes and tourism officials at the Rizal Plaza to show her support for their activities.

“I just hope that people will see the progress of Tacloban City and they will love to visit here," the 5’7 stunner said on her aim to promote the city to the Visayas regions and the world.

During another visit to the Rizal Central School in the city, Fernandez also held a reading session with Grade 1 students.

"I believe there will be beauty queens around here, and by studying hard, one day you'll also be queens," said Fernandez as she reminded the young learners to “dream big.”

A graduate of mass communication major in broadcasting, Fernandez was also titleholder of the 2017 Miss Tacloban, 2018 Reyna ng Aliwan, and 2019 Miss Earth Philippines Water.

On October 15, Fernandez will represent the Philippines in the Miss Globe pageant in Tirana, Albania. (SunStar Philippines)
