Pampanga on red alert due to Super Typhoon Karding

GOVERNOR Dennis Pineda has raised the province’s alert level status to red Sunday afternoon, anticipating the onslaught of Super Typhoon “Karding.”

This, as the province was put under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 3 as early as Sunday noon.

Pineda suspended classes at all levels in both public and private schools on Monday to ensure the safety of the students.

He ordered the pre-emptive evacuation of residents in high-risk coastal barangays in Lubao, Macabebe, Masantol, Sasmuan and Minalin.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has prepositioned its disaster response equipment and put on standby its manpower services while the alert status is active.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office has activated its Disaster Management to prepare for possible relief operations.

Food and hygiene packs were set at the San Simon and Provincial Engineering Office warehouses as of Sunday.

Medical equipment were on-standby and set for distribution in evacuation centers by the Provincial Health Office.

Continuous monitoring of local DRRMOs was ordered to ensure the safety of all residents, especially those at the flood-prone areas.
