PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. conducted on Monday, September 26, 2022, an aerial inspection of the areas battered by Super Typhoon Karding (Noru).

Marcos went over the provinces of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac.

“After our aerial inspection today, we found some areas that are still inundated with water. Nueva Ecija and Aurora are without power. We are sending gensets now,” he said in a Facebook post.

“But generally, the damage to public and private infrastructure is minimal. Government services are almost at full function. Main road thoroughfares are passable, communication is up and running,” he added.

Before the inspection, Marcos gathered his Cabinet secretaries who reported about the situation on the ground following the onslaught of Karding.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government said nearly 20,000 families were preemptively evacuated due to the weather system.

Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo assured the continuous provision of relief goods to the affected population while assessment, whether they can already return to their homes, is being conducted. (SunStar Philippines)
