RESIDENTS of Barangay Iponan and its nearby areas will have no need to go to the downtown and uptown area of Cagayan de Oro as a new commercial hub will soon officially be opening its doors to the public on October 8, 2022.
The Metro Square and Market, owned by Metro Coolaire Engineering Services, is the largest commercial development located near Villamar and Cambridge Subdivisions in Barangay Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City.
This commercial hub comes with a 24-hour convenience store, an appliance center, pharmacy, grocery store, and several tenants that include a salon, a laundry shop, bakery, furniture, water refilling station, cellphone and gadget display and repair, and food shops. It even has a floor for people who wanted a place to stay, the Galactic Boutique Inn, and a dry and wet market section as well.
According to Joan Lanzaderas, one of Matro Square's admin, this commercial hub started as a marker place only.
"But the idea grew and grew until naa na tay Metro Square that not only hosts small businesses, but also medium and large businesses," Lanzaderas said.
"Metro Square is a community hub. It not only caters to the average or middle class Kagay-anons, but also caters to all walks of life," she added.
While the grand opening of Metro Square is slated to happen on October 8, as early as September 17 there are already some shops opened to serve the people of Barangay Iponan, such as the appliance center and the convenience store.
Residents of Barangay Iponan can also visit the food shops at the commercial hub's ground and second floors. They can also host their events at the third floor where Metro Square's event hall is located.
Lanzaderas said they have made sure that the food offered in Metro Square are of different cuisines and variants. Pizzazella and Tafaddal Unli Shrimp and Unli Samgyupsal are two of the several food tenants that will open on October 8, 2022.
