Espina: Festive events

Rain or shine, Cebu celebrates festive events.

The first days of “face-to-face” classes and late enrolment in most schools like the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Benedicto College, University of Cebu, University of the Visayas and St. Theresa’s College had festive ceremonies to welcome parents, faculty and students, after two years or more of basic homeroom teaching and learning.

Added to these are alumni homecomings, and civic and business activities across the regions.

Tourism and travel tours and cruises are back. Karaoke joints are again noisy with singing and light drinking. Malls like SM and Ayala are venues for exhibits, product launching, cultural entertainment and pre-Christmas sales. Yes, we are “alive” again with holiday lights and decorations, like those at the Cebu IT Park, and soon in Fuente Osmeña and Cebu Business Park.

The “Pinoy” spirit makes crucial challenges manageable. And this is felt in “Cebu, Where the Heart Sings.”
