A 53-YEAR-old man accused of illegal cutting of trees in a forest reservation area was arrested in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Monday, September 26, 2022.
Police Major Samsom Pascual, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Zamboanga del Sur provincial field unit chief, identified the arrested person as Dukan Pangansayan.
Pascual said that Pangansayan was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 12:13 p.m. Monday in Songayan village, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.
Pascual said that Pangansayan has standing warrant of arrest for illegal logging with P4,000 recommended bail issued on October 26, 2015 by the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of San Miguel-Dinas-Lapuyan in Zamboanga del Sur.
He said that Pangansayan was charged by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for illegal cutting of tress at the forest reservation area in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.
He said the arrested suspect was taken to the Dinas Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
