THE 10th Infantry Division (10ID) of the Philippine Army said there are no longer Guerilla Fronts (GFs) operating in Davao Region.
“Wala nay Guerilla Front nga ga-operate (There’s no longer any GFs operating in the region). Tanang probinsya nato declared na as insurgency-free (All provinces in the region have been as insurgency-free),” Captain Mark Anthony Tito, 10ID Spokesperson, said during the AFP-PNP Press Conference on September 28, 2022.
Tito said that an official declaration will be made soon.
“For the whole region, we need the resolution coming from the Regional Peace and Order Council to formally declare the whole region as insurgency-free,” Tito said.
Davao City has been declared insurgency free on March 24, 2022, Davao del Norte on June 13, 2022, Davao de Oro on June 22, 2022, Davao del Sur on July 1, 2022, Davao Occidental on August 18, 2022, and Davao Oriental on September 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, Tito said they are still dismantling the remaining GF 57 in 10ID's area of responsibility (AOR), which covers the boundary of North Cotabato and Southern portion of Bukidnon, in a bid to declare their area insurgency free. KSD
