FILIPINO-JAPANESE artist Migumi Miura, who is now based in Bacolod, continues to sharpen her passion for the arts.

Muira associates herself with the community of artists in Bacolod City, particularly at the Orange Project in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

She likes to explore more on her deep longing for the arts by expressing them in various forms of art pieces.

Megumi Miura was born and raised in Japan.

This artist has something interesting and bold to show through her artistry.

Megumi has been based in Bacolod for a long time now, but the influence from her younger days in Japan has been apparent in her works.

She fondly remembers being exposed to music and craft-making back then, eventually leading her to develop her own artistic pursuits.

“I usually play around with colors and whimsical figures, but the stories behind her creations revolve on the unusual,” she said.

She added that the unconventional, the uncustomary, manifested in her preference for music and its culture as well.

She advocates and continues to learn about womanhood and motherhood, being one herself.

Another reflection of her taking the road less taken, Megumi also has participated in community-organized events and utilizes found objects.

She has two solo exhibitions and numerous group shows under her belt and she is not stopping.

Megumi is among the artists working with the Orange Project for its next exhibition this October.
