Love and fashion on all fronts: Weddings at the Waterfront 2022

A bride must look her absolute best on her wedding day, while the groom should be as every bit as dashing. A wedding is a profound and beautiful event for any couple and their big day should be a beautiful celebration of love.

Cebu City was once again treated to multiple showcases of all things love as Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino recently hosted the Cebu Wedding Expo 2002, co-presented by DiaGold, Iconique Mall and Cary Santiago. The expo ran from Sept. 23 to 25, 2022, enchanting guests with exhibiting wedding organizers, suppliers and partners as well some of the most beautiful gowns on display that were designed by some of the finest Cebuano designers.

The theme for this year’s bridal fashion expo was “Starry, Starry Night.” The event aimed to show the endless possibilities of different kinds of wedding gowns and services available to the public. It was the perfect venue for couples who want to make their wedding day extra special and glamorous as indeed, when it comes to envisioning and executing their “big day,” the sky’s the limit.

According to event organizers, over 1,300 people registered to “seal the best wedding deals in preparation for their big day.”

On Sept. 24, the expo hosted its main highlight at the hotel’s Pacific Grand Ballroom: “Gugma - Weddings at Waterfront.”

“Gugma” was a bridal fashion show that highlighted the works of the following renowned fashion designers: Cary Santiago, Dexter Alazas, Edwin Alba, Valerie Alvez, Edwin Ao, Arnu Poe Camay, Harvey Cenit, Hanz Coquilla, Protacio Empaces Jr., Ronald Enrico, Jun Escaro, Rei Escario, Alejandro Godinez, OJ Hofer, Jian Lasala, Dino Lloren, Mel Maria, Wendell Quisido, Anthony Romoff, Harley Ruedas, Marichu Tan, Philipp Tampus, Humberto Villegas, Mike Yapching and Philip Rodriguez.

These designers definitely showcased their take on bridal fashion, giving spectators a ton of new ideas on how wedding gowns and suits can be modern, traditional or even unique.

The Models’ Association of Cebu lit up the runway, joined by Cebuana beauty queens Gazini Ganados, Nicole Borromeo, Jamie Herrell and Beatrice Luigi Gomez.

The event was one for the books as it presented the best of what the Cebu fashion scene has to offer. As the world is slowly coming together after two grueling years of battling the pandemic, the world can hope for things to come together and finally be able to give every couple the dream wedding that they deserve.
