A CONSTRUCTION worker reportedly succumbed to a hypertension attack while painting a five-story building in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City on Sunday morning, October 2, 2022.

Nagiel Bañacia, head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, told SunStar Cebu that the victim was discovered unconscious around 9:40 a.m. by his co-worker.

Bañacia said the responding personnel from the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital managed to get the body from the top of the 20 meter-high-scaffolding.

The victim was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival at 10:50 a.m.

“But we tried our best to revive the patient, including the doctors at the ER (emergency room),” Bañacia said.

Meanwhile, Bañacia said it is their policy not to disclose the name of the victim, who was a resident of Barangay Agus in the city.
