“A PUNISHMENT.”

That was how the Ka JB Regalado, spokesperson of the Leonardo Panaligan command of the New People’s Army (NPA) Central Negros front described in a statement Sunday, October 2, 2022, the killing of a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) in Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental last week.

Joselito Raboy, an active member of the Barangay Montilla Cafgu patrol base under the 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB), was on his motorcycle traveling along Sitio Kabayabasan when the suspects blocked his way and shot him.

Raboy died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Regalado alleged that Raboy was among those who launched an offensive operation against daycare worker Cristina Jacolbe at Sitio Banderahan of Barangay Trinidad in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental in July.

The attack resulted in the death of Jacolbe’s daughter Everly and their relative Rodan Montero, he said.

Regalado added that Raboy was also with the troopers of the 62nd IB and the Special Action Force of the Philippine National Police in the planned attack against a certain Boyet Cezar and Marjun Mahinay of Sitio Kambairan in Barangay Trinidad.

The rebel-leader also claimed that Raboy is one of the three Cafgus who ransack houses at Sitio Bayabasan and threaten the residents whom they suspect as NPA supporters.

“The punishment of Raboy will serve as a warning against those who allow themselves to be part of the machineries of fascist AFP and PNP in exchange for money,” Regalado stressed.

He also warned those who claim to be former members of the NPA surrendering to the Philippine army that they, too, will not be spared.

The rebel group said that they will not hesitate to punish more individuals in order to serve justice to those who have fallen victims to "fascism."
