SWEDISH-OWNED business process outsourcing (BPO) company, Transcom Worldwide Philippines Inc., ignites anew its resolve to grow its footprint in Bacolod as it formally opens a recruitment hub on 21st Lacson Street in the Negros Occidental capital city.

The opening ceremony today, October 3, will be led by the company’s Senior Vice President for Human Resources, Caroline Co. Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez are expected to grace the event.

Housed in a structure previously occupied by Cafe Bob’s, Transcom Bacolod Recruitment Hub is strategically located in a busy area with high foot traffic that is very accessible to job seekers.

The hub on Lacson Street is mainly for recruitment, the firm’s operation will still be in its site in the city’s Barangay Tangub.

Co said Transcom is looking to expand aggressively in Bacolod City as it teems with amazing talents and skills needed by the BPO industry to respond to the growing global demand for quality customer care.

The City of Smiles played a key role in the expansion and continuous operation of Transcom in the Philippines according to Transcom Chief Executive Officer for the Global English Region Mark Lyndsell.

“It is home to about a third of our entire employee population in the country and has been a long-time venue where most of the important brands or clients of Transcom are served,” Lyndsell added.

The BPO company employing at least 6,500 workforce in the country has been operating in the city for the past 13 years.

For Bacolod City alone, the firm currently caters to two big brands including a US-based telecommunication company.

“Growing Transcom Philippines essentially entails growing it further in Bacolod and potentially in the wider province of Negros Occidental given the province’s rich contribution to the company’s journey and success,” Co further said.

Transcom is hiring over 1,000 to 1,500 Customer Service and Technical Support Representatives for one of the biggest global media and technology companies in the United States for the fourth quarter of 2022.

There’s really an increase in demand based on the business of the clients particularly if they widen their customer base aside from the seasonality like during Christmas season where the demand is also high, the firm’s Senior Director Engagement for Communications and Corporate Affairs Aldrin Carlos said.

Expanding their (clients) businesses here is the ultimate measure, he told SunStar Bacolod, adding that they are confident of the city’s talent pool.

The opportunities are open to non-college graduates and even to those without any call center experience for so long as applicants are highly motivated to learn, passionate about assisting customers, and have good English conversational skills, the firm said.

Job seekers may visit the Transcom Bacolod Recruitment Hub from October 3 onwards to find out more about the various exciting incentives, bonuses, and top of the line benefits that Transcom offers.

These included the P40,000 signing bonus for hired candidates.

“The signing bonus is on top of the free meals during their training until they get their first pay, and no late and perfect attendance bonus and rewards," Transcom’s director for sourcing and leadership hiring, Melvin Peralta said.

The hub is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and targets to process at least 50 applicants per day, he added. (With PR)
