FIVE lucky bettors from Davao del Sur are among the 433 winners of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) 6/55 Grand Lotto on Saturday, October 1.
Based on the breakdown, the majority of the winners are from Metro Manila with a total of 152, followed by Cavite with 34, and Rizal with 22.
The 6/55 draw had a jackpot prize of P236,091,188.40.
The winning bettors will get P545,254.24 each.
In a statement, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said the large number of winners in the 6/55 is due to most bettors being "loyal" to their picked numbers.
"Lottery is a game of chance, nothing is definite and it is uncontrollable," Robles said.
He added, "To the 433 new jackpot winners, it pays to be loyal."
Opposition senators Koko Pimentel and Risa Hontiveros earlier mulled the conduct of inquiry to ensure the credibility of the game led by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Robles, meanwhile, maintained that there was no irregularity and that what happened was a “natural occurrence.” With reports from SunStar Philippines
