Outstanding teachers in Central Luzon feted

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office III the other day paid tribute to Central Luzon's most outstanding teachers and school heads in rites that jived with the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence or Praise.

This is in time for the celebration of National Teachers’ Month.

DepEd Regional Director May Eclar said the search for the most outstanding teachers and school heads is part of the agency's rewards and recognition mandate under the Civil Service Commission's program to institutionalize meritocracy and excellence in human resource management.

"It is our commitment to continuously uplift the quality of our services for the sake of our learners in Central Luzon,” Eclar said.

The awardees were selected by a panel composed of University of the Assumption Director for Internationalization and External Relations Dexter Balajadia, Bulacan State University Director for Educational Development Ruben Borja, and Don Honorio Ventura State University Office for International Partnerships and Programs and Office for Alumni Affairs Director Mildred Crisostomo.

The top five winners in each category who received plaques and cash prizes are

Elmark Joaquin of Matias A. Fernando Memorial School in Bulacan was named Most Outstanding Teacher-Elementary Category. Lea Orseno of Concepcion SPED Center in Tarlac Province placed second; Rjay Calaguas of Northville 15 Integrated School in Angeles City, third; Rose Ann Esguerra of Gapan East Integrated School in Gapan City, fourth; and Jane Manzanero of Uacon Integrated School in Zambales, fifth.

Rafael Martinez of Guiguinto National Vocational High School in Bulacan topped the Most Outstanding Teacher-Secondary Category. Jeffrey Yumang of Madapdap Resettlement Senior High School in Mabalacat City ranked second; Cindy Oliva of City of Meycauayan Vocational Senior High School in Meycauayan City, third; Christopher Lumba of Pampanga High School in City of San Fernando, fourth; and Christopher Francisco of Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School in Malolos City, fifth.

Chevy Tanglao of Monicayo Integrated School in Mabalacat City landed first in the Most Outstanding School Head-Elementary Category. Marygil Joson of Balaoang Elementary School in Tarlac Province settled for second; Jiji Regala of Magalang Elementary School in Pampanga, third; Ma. Aurea Rhodora Geronimo of Dr. Guillermo De La Merced Memorial School in Bulacan, fourth; and Lorna A. Aquino of San Fernando Elementary School in City of San Fernando, fifth.

Ma. Victoria Vivo of Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School in Malolos City is this year’s Most Outstanding School Head-Secondary Category. Richard Agustin of Sindalan National High School in the City of San Fernando came in second; Julius Sarabia of City of Meycauayan Vocational Senior High School in Meycauayan City, third; Ara Velasco of Pagalanggang National High School in Bataan, fourth; and Ismael Delos Reyes of Atlu Bola National High School in Mabalacat City, fifth.
