THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Central Visayas has a new director.

Colonel Peter Miguel Tagtag replaced Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog who assumed the post of director of the Cebu City Police Office on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

Tagtay told SunStar Cebu on Thursday, October 6, 2022, that he would focus on cold cases, or “unsolved criminal investigations which remain open pending the discovery of new evidence,” and continue to implement the CIDG’s flagship programs like Oplan Pagtutugis, or the campaign against wanted persons.

He said the CIDG Central Visayas under his leadership would help the Philippine National Police in its war against criminality, particularly against illegal drugs.

Tagtag used to head the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, which is under the Police Regional Office in Cordillera.

Tagtag, who is married with three children, is originally from the Cordillera Region.

He and Dalogdog were classmates at the Philippine National Police Academy and members of Kabalikat Class of 1998.

Tagtag urged the public to help them implement peace and order in Central Visayas and support the CIDG 7’s programs. (BBT, PJB)
