WORK-RELATED is the angle being looked into by the Escalante City Police Station in the shooting to death of a traffic enforcer in the city on Wednesday night, October 5, 2022.

Major Jake Barila, chief of Escalante City Police Station, said they already have persons of interest in the killing of Reymond Lucero, 46, of Purok Tagumpay in the city’s Barangay Balintawak.

Lucero died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds, a police report showed.

Investigation showed that Lucero was waiting for his wife in front of Escalante City National High School at Barangay Alimango where his wife is teaching when he was shot.

Barila said two men onboard a motorcycle arrived and one of them shot Lucero.

When he was already on the floor, another two men also onboard a motorcycle arrived and one of them alighted and shot the victim again.

Barila added that they recovered three spent bullets of what is believed to be a .38 caliber revolver from the crime scene.

The police official noted that Lucero has been an enforcer for quite a long time and was strict in implementing traffic rules.
