UNITED City FC (UCFC) is looking to move up to the top of the 2022 Philippines Football League (PFL) on Oct. 8 as it takes on Mendiola FC 1991 at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

UCFC could overtake Cebu FC and league leader Kaya FC-Iloilo for the No. 1 spot with a win over Mendiola FC.

The last time UCFC met with Mendiola FC was on Aug. 14. UCFC destroyed Mendiola FC, 5-0.

UCFC, the defending PFL titleholder, is on a tear in the league and is the only remaining undefeated team.

UCFC’s biggest win this season was a 2-0 victory over Kaya FC last month.

UCFC is coming off a 1-0 win over winless Maharlika Manila FC last Oct. 1.

Mendiola FC, on the other hand, only has one win in the league, a 1-0 win over Maharlika FC also last month.

Mendiola FC is coming off a 7-1 beating in the hands of Cebu FC.

Meanwhile, Stallion Laguna FC faces off with Maharlika FC at the Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan, Laguna.

Stallion FC is currently in great form and hopes to capture its third straight victory in the league. Stallion FC owns back-to-back wins over Azkals Development Team and Mendiola FC.

Maharlika FC, on the other hand, had an impressive performance over UCFC despite losing. Maharlika FC held UCFC to just a single goal in 90 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, Cebu FC is hosting for the first time in club history its first ever home match this Sunday at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex in Talisay City. The Gentle Giants are up against Kaya FC in a match for the league’s top spot.

Kaya FC is currently at the top with 18 points, while Cebu FC is second with 17 points. UCFC is third with 16 points, followed by Stallion FC with 12 points. ADT is fifth with seven points, Mendiola FC is sixth with three and Maharlika FC is at the bottom with no points.
