CEBU FC will be in a crucial match with Kaya FC-Iloilo today in its first home match in the 2022 Philippines Football League (PFL) at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex in Talisay City.
Cebu FC is currently on an impressive run winning its last four matches. The Gentle Giants started its first league appearance slow after losing to Kaya FC, 3-0, and a draw with United City FC (UCFC).
Cebu FC is coming off a dominant 6-2 drubbing of Mendiola FC 1991 on Sept. 24.
Kaya FC, on the other hand, bounced back from a loss to UCFC with a 1-0 win over Stephan Schrock-led Azkals Development Team (ADT). Kaya FC suffered it first loss last Sept. 17, a 2-0 defeat to defending champion UCFC. UCFC just got the top spot with a 2-0 win over Mendiola FC last Saturday at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
UCFC now has 19 points and overtook Kaya FC and Cebu FC after the win.
Kaya FC is second with 18 points, followed by Cebu FC with 17 points and Stallion Laguna FC is fourth with 15 points.
Stallion FC crushed Maharlika Manila FC, 4-0. Cebu FC will have a series of home matches starting with Kaya FC.
Cebu FC faces UCFC next on Oct. 15, Stallion FC on Oct. 23 and ADT on Oct. 29.
