FIFTY jobseekers were hired on the spots (Hots) during the Zamboanga Hermosa Job Fair on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Zamboanga City.

The job fair held at the KCC de Zamboanga is part of the ongoing celebration of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival, which for the first time after two years is being held face-to-face.

Mayor John Dalipe said that all of the 50 Hots are for local employment since all of the companies that participated in the job fair were locally based.

They were hired as sales associate, service crew, bagger, stockman, and checkers.

Dalipe said that records from Public Employment Service Office (Peso) showed that 1,474 applicants were interviewed of which 1,037 were qualified for positions made available during the annual job fair.

Dalipe said that the number of registrants reached 970 of which 560 were females and 410 were males. Some 1,756 job vacancies were made available.

“The activity is to provide employment opportunity to jobseekers and make job hunting easier,” he said.

The job fair, organized by the Peso under the City Social Welfare and Development Office in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment, was participated by 32 companies onsite and 10 other companies via drop box. (SunStar Zamboanga)
