THE mayor of the Municipality of Sta. Cruz Jose Nelson Sala Sr. wants to establish a government hospital during his administration, said Tourism and Investment Promotion Officer Julius Paner on Friday, October 7.

“Maybe secondary or primary hospital or tertiary hospital, depending on the availability and the opportunity here in Sta. Cruz,” Paner said during the One Davao virtual presser with the Philippine Information Agency in Davao Region.

No final plans have been laid out for the municipal hospital but Paner said the mayor has reached out to the Department of Health in the region to discuss the possible ways to establish the said hospital in Sta. Cruz.

“There are things na dapat i-consider (we need to consider) in putting up a structure like a hospital pero ang gusto ni Mayo, paningkamutan niya matuman within sa iyahang termino (but the Mayor wants to build that, hopefully during his term),” Paner said.

Meanwhile, the local government unit also has three new public buildings that recently opened for the public.

Paner said the new municipal hall is now fully occupied by different government offices.

“Among municipal hall, katong pinakadako kaayo, humana na (The large, new municipal hallis finished). Nauna construct ang main structure, then ang left wing and right wing, humana na pud (The mainstructure was finished first, followed by the left wing and right wing).” Paner said.

The new Trial Court Building was also already turned over to the Municipal Trial Court last month and is already occupied by their offices.

On the other hand, the construction of the Indigenous Peoples’ Building is still ongoing but Paner said the project may be finished before the year ends.

“Gamay na lang ang kulang (It’s alsmost finished). I think before mahuman ang year (the year ends), ma-turnover na sa ilahan (it could be turnedover to them).” Paner said. ICM
