Romualdez leads Christmas tree lighting in Tacloban

TACLOBAN City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, together with top officials of Robinsons Mall in Eastern Visayas, lead the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Robinsons North Mall in Barangay Abucay Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Romualdez lauded the "great cooperation and participation" of Robinsons Mall in the City Government's various activities during the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

"Two years ago, it's hard to imagine na mag back to normal tayo. But I was very hopeful. Because of your cooperation, pabalik na tayo sa normal. Maraming nahihirapan na mga negosyante, but we are working together to overcome the challenges," Romualdez said.

"I am thankful that God is with us, giving us a bright future and peaceful place here in Tacloban," added the mayor, as he expressed his early Christmas greetings to the public.

Robinsons Mall Regional Operations Manager Jennifer Puno said the Christmas Tree Lighting activity is their "message of gratitude and hope" to the Taclobanons.

Also present during the event were City Councilor Christopher Esperas, Robinsons Mall Area Marketing Manager Ian Virrey, Leasing Manager Joanna Pauline Modesto, City Tourism Officer Malu Tabao, teachers, school principal Vivian Escultor, and 30 student-beneficiaries from Judge Antonio Montillo Sr Elementary School in Tacloban.

Performers from the Palo Ambassador Orchestra, Kusog Performing Arts Group, and San Isidro Dove Choir of Blessed Sacrament also entertained the visitors and mall-goers.
