MAJOR General Efren Baluyot, commander of the Army’s Armor Division, vowed to continuously support the campaign of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) against terrorism.

Baluyot made the assurance during the conversation with Brigadier General Arturo Rojas, Westmincom acting commander, when the former visited Monday, October 10,

Camp Navarro, which houses Westmincom’s headquarters in this city.

Baluyot also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome rendered him during his arrival at Camp Navarro. He is accompanied by his wife, Charito.

The Westmincom’s officers and personnel welcomed Baluyot with company-sized military honors during his arrival at Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city.

Rojas received the distinguished visitor at the Laong Laan Hall of the command.

The command staff led by the Colonel Yasser Bara, Acting Chief of Unified Command Staff joined Rojas in welcoming Baluyot and his wife.

Rojas thanked Baluyot for taking the time to visit Westmincom.

Rojas also commended the mechanized battalions assigned at the Westmincom’s area of operation for their numerous gains that contributed to the overall accomplishment of the command.

Baluyot is the 24th Commander of the Armor Division, Philippine Army. It is formerly known as the Mechanized Infantry Division.

Baluyot is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989.

As a seasoned officer, his extensive command and leadership experiences in the field against communist insurgency and Muslim secessionists propelled his significant and steady rise in the ladder of his military career. (SunStar Zamboanga)
