1ID welcomes 4 officers to the command

THE Army’s 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division (ID) has recognized and welcomed four newly-assigned officers to its command.

Brigadier General Antonio Nafarrete, 1ID commander, led the recognition of the three officers Monday during the flag-raising ceremony at the Division grandstand.

Each introduced themselves before Nafarrte, other officers, and enlisted personnel of the command.

The newly assigned officers are: Colonel Jessie Montoya, Lieutenant Colonel Jofrey Asuncion, Lieutenant Colonel Nestor Degayo, and Captain Pol Danry Mirafuentes.

As tradition, the newly-assigned officers received their Tabak patch from Nafarrete.

Nafarrete said that the ceremonial pinning of the Tabak patch is an expression of gratitude and how much the D ivision value their being assigned in the command.

Meanwhile, Nafarrete encouraged the four newly-assigned officers to take the assignment seriously and to be considered among the Division of the Philippines Army's most competitive and battle-tested leaders and commanders.

“Consider this division as your new home, we are now your second family, and we are here to guide and mentor you to become better officers and leaders,” Nafarrete said.

“Take this opportunity to learn and improve yourselves. Perform well on the tasks that will be given to you and remain steadfast amidst the hardships you will encounter,” Nafarrete added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
