AFTER a week, a reconciliation finally took place between a Grade 12 student and a participant of the first Balik Yuhom XC Race in Bacolod City Monday, October 10.

The video of the Grade 12 student giving the biker dirty water scooped from a stream to drink made rounds on social media, drawing negative comments from the netizens.

Nineteen-year-old Rolly Ray Alejo personally apologized to Khyle Montecado following a dialogue at the barangay hall of Vista Alegre in the presence of Barangay Captain Jose Maria Leandro De Leon Monday morning.

“I apologize and I promise not to do it again,” Alejo said, saying that he regrets what he has done.

In a previous interview, he said that he only wanted to pour the water to Montecado, but the latter drank it instead.

For her part, Montecado said that what happened should serve as a lesson to Alejo not to pull this kind of prank again on anyone.

“If God can forgive, why can’t I,” she said, saying that what Alejo did was not really nice.

She wasn’t able to have a laboratory test after the incident because she had been preoccupied with other things lately.

“I wanted to file a case, but my parents and siblings told me not to anymore,” Alejo noted.

Last week, she lodged a complaint for unjust vexation at Police Station 5 and also sought the help of the City Legal Office for a possible filing of charges.

Councilor Claudio Puentevella, chairman of the Committee on Health of the Bacolod City Council, also assured help should Montecedo pursue the charges.

Puentevella also wanted to call for a public hearing regarding the incident.

The organizer of the event has since apologized to Montecedo and stressed that Alejo and his companions were mere spectators, they were not participants.
