DAVAO City public cemetery will be open to all visitors starting October 30 to November 3, 2022, said Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
“Ang mga sementeryo open na sa tanan, wala na siyay limit na pasudlon dili na siya parehas dati nga by batch (The cemeteries will be open to everyone and there will be no limit to the number of people who can enter the cemetery unlike the previous year wherein they are grouped into batches),” Major Catherine Dela Rey, DCPO Spokesperson, said in an interview with SunStar Davao on October 10, 2022.
Dela Rey said that cemeteries will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., however, she said that overnight stay is prohibited.
Although wearing a facemask is already optional, Dela Rey said people should observe social distancing.
“Ipatuman gihapon nato ang minimum public health standard [protocol] katong sa social distancing, so reminder sa mga mobisita sa mga kung dili gyud ninyo ma-maintain ang social distancing, wear facemask para proteksyon sa inyuhang sarili ug sa inyong mga kauban (The minimum public health standards will still be observed like social distancing, if the visitors will not be able to keep the social distancing they can wear facemasks instead to protect themselves and the people around them),” Dela Rey said.
Dela Rey also reminded Dabawenyos the do’s and don’ts inside the cemetery.
“Bawal tong mga pointed objects, ang pagsugal diha sa sulod, ang play og mga videoke or loud music, mag-inom or sigarilyo (We prohibit bringing pointed objects inside the premises, gambling, playing loud music or karaoke, liquor, and smoking),” Dela Rey said.
Earlier, Dela Rey said in a separate interview that around 300 personnel will be deployed for the Undas to monitor the 37 cemeteries in the city. KSD
