Davao Region records 1,421 new Covid-19 cases

THE whole of Davao Region has 1,421 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 14 days, according to the Covid-19 Tracker of the Department of Health as of October 9, 2022.

Davao del Sur has 851 new cases, followed by Davao del Norte with 205 cases, Davao City has 128 cases, Davao Oriental with 92, and Davao Occidental with 10 cases. The rest of the new cases are yet to be verified.

As of October 8, 50.9 percent of ICU beds in the region have been utilized, which is equal to 85 beds out of the 167 available, while 408 beds out of 936 non-ICU beds are used which is also equal to 43.6 percent utilization.

Seventy-five individuals are admitted to severe and critical care, which is 13.79 percent of the total 544 Covid-19 admissions as of October 8.

On the other hand, the region has yet to achieve the target vaccination cover of 3,796,830. As of October 5, the region has 87.3 percent coverage or 3,313,113 administered with the primary doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine.

All of the provinces in the region have already vaccinated more than 50 percent of their target coverage; however, the booster dose rollout remains slow.

As of October 5, the booster dose coverage in the region has improved slightly from 610,454 administered as of September 26 to 633,936. The second booster dose also improved by at least 8,000 from 101,322 administered to 109,821 as of October 5. ICM
