A MANGO harvester was arrested in Sitio Campaka, Barangay Pamutan, Cebu City on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2022.
Luis (not his real name) is charged with allegedly raping his half-sister Ana (not her real name) the other year.
Major Nazarino Emia, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Provincial Field Unit, said Luis is the third most wanted person in Cebu Province.
Emia said that when they received information the accused was living in the area, they immediately coordinated with the City Mobile Force Company of the Cebu City Police Office to take him into custody.
The warrant for Luis' arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 24 Judge Jose Nathaniel Andal in Cebu City on Tuesday, October 11.
No bail was recommended.
According to Emia, the accused denied the allegation, saying he was in Pampanga to harvest mangoes when the alleged incident happened.
Emia, though, said this was just an alibi.
Wednesday’s operation was part of the CIDG’s flagship project known as Oplan Pagtugis, or campaign against wanted persons. (GPL)
