Dusit & Emilia Sitjar Jewellery to hold charity gala in November

SOMETHING big and exciting will happen in the city's social scene. Dusit has partnered with Emilia SItjar Jewellery to mount a charity gala with a dinner and fashion show. The show will also feature the collection of the Davao Fashion & Design Council. SOS Children’s Village will be the beneficiary of the affair.

The partnership was inked recently over an intimate gathering at the Lumpini Room of the hotel. Present at the MOA signing were GM Christoph Kuch, Cluster DOSM Leilani Merilo, Emilia Sitjar Jewellery’s Managing Director Emil Sitjar, SOS Village Philippines-Davao’s representative Daimler Demeterio, Davao Fashion and Design Council President Dodjie Batu, and the director of the show, Jackie Aquino.

GM Christoph Kuch said, “We are very happy to give Davao something grand but purposeful post-pandemic. Our partners are the best in their own industries, with Emilia Sitjar Jewellery and DFDC taking the fashion scene in Mindanao a notch higher through this event. This will be for the benefit of SOS Children’s Village in Davao.”

Emil Sitjar and Dodjie Batu also expressed their excitement and gratitude for the creation of the charity gala of the year in Davao. A product of collaborative outputs from the partners, the Dusit Charity Gala aims to merge the Dusit Davao’s 3rd anniversary celebration with a commitment to help the community by paving the way to creating better lives for children.

“It’s going to be a two-day event that will lead to the charity gala,” said Dusit Cluster DOSM Leilani Merilo, “On November 11. The event's partners will hold the Dusit Charity Gala Masterclass and the Emilia Sitjar Jewellery Private Show at the Presidential Suite.”

The Masterclass will hold lectures by Emil Sitjar on “Jewellery as Investment,” Emi Englis of DFDC on “The Evolution of Mindanao Fashion,” Patty Betita on “Elevating Your Persona,” and Renee Salud on “Building a Fashion Empire.”

“On the gala night on November 12, the Dusit Thani Grand Ballroom will be the venue for a four-course Thai dinner and the fashion show which will feature the collections of Emilia Sitjar Jewellery collection and DFDC. A raffle draw will add to the excitement,” shared Merilo.

Emil Sitjar said, "Emilia Sitjar Jewellery will present its 'A Springtime of Gratitude' collection. There are going to be a lot of colors using colored gemstones, and diamonds as well. It's a happy collection, and we want people to be happy when they see the collection. It's springtime for us coming out of the pandemic and it's the gratitude I feel with my family surviving that episode."

Emil Sitjar Jewellery and DFDC will work closely together for this segment of the show.

Individually, the DFDC designers composed of Dodjie Batu, Aztec Barba, Emi Englis, Edgar Buyan, Benjie Panizales, Windel Mira, Bamba Limon, and Egay Ayag, will present a collection based on the theme "Elements."
