Investors pick Masantol despite flooding -- mayor

MASANTOL Almost two dozens of new investors have opened business in this town since July 1 of this year.

This was learned from Mayor Antonio “Ton-ton” Bustos III in his report during his first 100 days in office.

Despite flooding, Bustos said a total of 23 businesses have opened in the town since he assumed the local chief executive position.

The mayor added that the arrival of investors in town signals a better opportunity for every Masantol resident.

“Ibig sabihin nito ay may bagong trabahong nagbubukas, may bagong oportunidad sa ating mg kababayan at may bagong pag-asa na gigising ang ating mga kababayan na may trabaho ma kayang tustusan ang gastusin sa araw-araw,” he said.

The mayor also said more investors is equivalent to additional income for the local government.

The increase in local revenue will be translated to better quality of public service to all sectors of the community, Bustos added.

“Pipilitin po natin na sa mga darating pa na buwan at taon ay makahikayat pa ng mga negosyo para sa mas marami at magandang oportunidad sa ating mga kababayan,” he said.

The mayor said he is also finding ways, including engineering interventions, to resolve the flood problem.

He earlier said he was consulting experts to provide the solutions to the perennial problem of the municipality.

“Kung persistent po ang baha, mas magiging persistent ang lokal na gobyerno para masolusyunan ito at mabigyan ng bagong at mas maganda at ligtas na buhay ang ating mga kababayan,” Bustos said.
