SIX villages in Maguindanao and Special Geographic Area (SGA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) received newly built barangay health stations (BHS) from the regional government.

The recipients of the new BHS include Making, Campo Islam, and Magsaysay in Parang, Maguindanao; and Central Labas in Midsayap, Binasing in Pigcawayan, and Langogan in Carmen, all in SGA.

Dr. Tato Usman, director for operations of the Ministry of Health in Barmm (MOH-Barmm), said Monday, October 17, that each of the BHS costs P2.5 million.

Four of the six BHS were funded under the Tiyakap Bangsamoro Kalusugan Project (TBKP) under the 2021 General Appropriation Act, while the remaining two were under the MOH 2020 Special Development Fund.

Usman said they will hire permanent staff in the BHS to provide round-the-clock services, adding that putting up health facilities across Barmm is among its top priorities. (SunStar Zamboanga)
